Maison Charlotte in Potsdam

I found the price / performance ratio not consistent. My expectations were higher.

I think the selection is broad and most of what I got in front of me was still very tasty. The staff was straightforward, well-groomed and friendly. The chairs are very comfortable and I find the distance between the seats extremely decent. You don't get the feeling of dining like sardines in a can there, I highly recommend this restaurant!

We were there at 7.15pm and looked forward to some recommended French cuisine. But there was only tarte flambée and fish soup.

At first we were welcomed in a very friendly manner and brought to our table. Unfortunately, the service then changed and we were treated unfriendly from now on. That was a shame, because for this reason we ended our stay earlier than planned. The food was good, but the service also has to be right. We will not visit the restaurant again for this reason. Pity!

If I had known beforehand that this restaurant sells foie gras, I would not have visited it in the first place and canceled the ArtNight event I had booked there. I can't paint the beauty of an animal, in my case a lion, while my neighbor is eating foie gras. The times for the excruciating suffering of fattening geese and ducks should be over by now! Every restaurant that is committed to animal welfare deserves my greatest respect. I hope the Maison Charlotte will soon join in and forego the foie gras in the future.

The food was not cheap, but very, very tasty. Starter, main course, wine accompaniment - a pleasure. It is romantic in the garden, but it also looked very nice inside. The service was attentive and friendly.

Very friendly service in a cosy environment. The starters and main courses were very good, the deserts not so much (we didn’t really appreciate the chocolate in them). The prices are indeed pretty steep compared to other restaurants, even though the quality is good. There is a very nice garden in the back and a wintergarden as well attached to it (that’s where we sat), unfortunately when even only one person smokes in the garden (as was the case when we were there) everybody enjoys along :(

In short: fine cuisine at a great price-performance ratio. Quality food and plenty of choice on the menu. Friendly, courteous and competent staff. Nice little garden. A nice, stylish ambience. The only drawback for us would be the 500km that separate us from Maison Charlotte When we get back to Potsdam, we will dine there again. A bientôt ?

Here you should probably just drink coffee and eat cake. We planned to end a nice day with a cozy dinner. I still wonder why we didn't leave the restaurant after meeting the very unfriendly waitress. It was probably also because dark clouds came up and we didn't want to go to a new restaurant in the rain. A quick order was requested as the kitchen will close soon and it was only 6.45pm. The food was not tasty and then too expensive. But, we could have gone, nobody forced us. :-(

Step into what looks like a French bistro, and enter into a friendly space, with great food options. We found this place after the place we researched was unexpectedly closed for the day. A quick check of Google reviews suggested that this place should be good. And it was! We were there in mid-afternoon, so there were only a couple of other occupied tables. The front room is very charming, with bistro tables and large glass windows overlooking the pretty street. We were seated in the interior rear (not on the terrace). The seating was comfortable, the space intimate yet bright due to windows looking out onto the pretty terrace. The menu was in German, but the very friendly and fun waitress assured us that she could help with the translation if we needed help. The flammkuchen was so delicious. We ordered two, and they were both great. They sold pretty decent wine by the glass. We had the excellent creme brulee for dessert, and it was a very subtle delicious vanilla flavor, and great creamy consistency. There is an extensive menu, and it is amazing that they can offer so many varied dishes in a place of this size. They exceeded our expectations, and we are so grateful for the kind and friendly server who made the experience even better than it already was. We would love to return.

I do not know when I've eaten so well last! Starter class, main course was outstanding, dessert also good. These very good wine and friendly advice to wine. Atmosphere very cozy. It is a little more expensive, but for what you get every penny! Potsdam the next visit we come back for sure.

La Maison Charlotte is a restaurant with delicious dishes, served by Romy and Jacob, who care for the guest quickly and lovingly. We were here for the first time today and we look forward to the many times that lie ahead.

Wannabe French restaurant and overpriced

One doesn't expect such a place just by looking from outside. It has a beautiful courtyard with a bar, very charming and cosy.

Great place to eat... Open later than most of the restaurants in Potsdam.

Nice restaurant with a nice interior, small but has great food and I absolutely loved the cherry beer on tap.

Ok, great work of private sponsorship but nevertheless overrated

Very cozy and exceptional dishes. The staff is very friendly and the boss knows the origin of each wine personally. Quite well attended on Easter Saturday and luckily we got a table. Menu with accompanying wines is generally recommended. Points were deducted anyway. For the price level, I am expecting an explanation of what I have on my plate. In addition, the Cremant was not so special and the starters were okay, but the whistle was missing. The main courses, on the other hand, were perfect.
